PLEA Summer Camp welcomed Interactive Story Adventures (ISA) for an action-filled week of activities! PLEA campers had tons of fun as the ISA team taught social skills through stories. The campers practiced 5 ways of saying hello to start a conversation or relationship: waving, handshakes, high-fives, head nods, and fist bumps, all interwoven through “Adventures on the ISA Express.” Children took imaginary train trips each day, visiting Sensory City, Swamp Stomp and Jungle Junction. They played with boxes overflowing with cool things to touch, watched masterpieces emerge in fascinating spin art paint machines, and built with different kinds of blocks over a mylar pond. Highlights for all of our campers were an iPad app called Name Games, specially designed for them and meeting Roamie, a furry blue robot that talked to them! The ISA puppet was also a big hit, accompanying us as one of the pals – and sure to be remembered as campers leaf through the colorful journals they took home. We had a great week as PLEA and ISA got together to learn and play with interactive story adventures!
