Congratulations to PLEA’s Salome Bey and Crystal Kosecki for helping PLEA receive a grant and earn the title of a Champion School as part of Let’s Move Pittsburgh.
Let’s Move Pittsburgh, a collaborative program of Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, provides Southwestern Pennsylvania’s children and their caregivers with the knowledge, tools and support needed to make nutritious food choices and lead active lifestyles.
The Champion School program is an annual grant that celebrates and rewards Allegheny County early learning centers, pre-K and elementary schools for lending new or existing programs to improve children’s health through nutrition, gardening and physical activity.
Salome and Crystal were asked to take part in the Let’s Move Pittsburgh Symposium on November 16th and were able to present program results. We are so proud of them and excited to be part of this exciting movement for the children of our region.
