Our program provides a wonderful opportunity to help change a life while also providing people in mental health recovery the comfort and self-motivation from the personalized support that helps their recovery.

We match caring volunteers with someone recovering from a mental health difficulty. Volunteers provide encouragement, acceptance, support and an opportunity to socialize on a monthly basis.
Compeer LifeFriends is an additional service to Compeer that provides group socialization, including guest speakers, monthly birthday celebrations, group meals, games, group matches, and women’s programming.

If you are interested in making a referral to the Compeer Program, please download and complete the Compeer Referral Form.
Completed forms can be mailed to 733 South Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15221 or faxed to (412) 243-5649.

Recreation Center

RECREATION CENTER SCHEDULE:

The Compeer Recreation Center provides frequent socialization in a group setting. The Compeer Recreation Center offers 3-5 days per week of social opportunities in a group setting where participants can make meaningful peer relationships, practice communication skills and learn new skills.

The Compeer Recreation Center is available for use by anyone involved in the Compeer Program.

Whether you are in a one-to-one match, in a Compeer Group match OR on the Compeer waiting list, the Recreation Center is open and available for your use!!

We serve lunch on the 1st and third Thursdays of the month AND we provide lunch every Saturday. The first Saturday of every month is our monthly mini-party where we celebrate all of the birthdays in that month, play bingo and have a special lunch together!

All Compeer participants that use the Rec Center are given a  token for each visit. 12 Tokens gets you a $10.00 Giant Eagle gift card!
