Dear PLEA Families,
We are still in a position to return to full in person instruction across our school on 1/18/2022. We are hopeful that we can continue to take steps to minimize future disruption. There are a great number of factors beyond our control as a community. However, we do have several major elements that are within our control. The first element is the vaccination status of our staff and students. We will continue to do our part as an agency to prioritize taking steps to ensure our staff our fully vaccinated as that definition evolves. We are continuing to encourage families to take the same step for their children. The protection from illness offered is the most important reason to pursue vaccination. The other major benefit is that it allows for less disruption to in person education, less closure, and quicker returns to in person instruction. It is also critically important for all members of the community to communicate transparently with respect to symptom onset and test results. Information about a test result a week after it is received will severely limit our ability to appropriately respond, will increase the likelihood for ongoing spread, and will ultimately lead to more disruption to programming.
It will be important for families to check our website over the weekend for additional updates. Thank you.
